Question "coil covers"

Are coil covers the same thing as weather/rain covers? Someone mentioned coil covers in another thread to help from damaging the coils--scratching, etc...I was wondering if they are the same. thanks

coil cover

Becky

A coil cover is simply a cover that looks like a frisbee, and fits on the bottom of the coil. This is to protect the coil, mainly from scratches, and wear from sliding the coil along the ground. The coils of the detectors are pretty much all water proof now, just keep the control box dry.

Yup........If you want maximum depth, "scrubbing" the coil is the way to go. And you're correct, the covers are a lot cheaper than the coil.
